Jared Atkins has been quite the regular on the Winvic blog, with his debut back in May 2019, but we’ve never captured him on film… until now! When Jared wrote his first blog he was undertaking a three-year course at Leicester College to complete NVQs levels 4 and 5 in Civil Engineering and the Built Environment. For National Apprenticeship Week 2021 he updated us about his progress and by last year he had made the transition from a college to university student, studying for his Degree Apprenticeship to gain a BEng in Civil Engineering via Nottingham Trent University.
So here we are with our star Engineering Apprentice, another year on. Jared explains how he enjoys building professional relationships and making friends, being proud of his work and being part of a tight team. Hit the play button to listen to him talk about the two industrial units he’s working on at DC9 & DC10 DIRFT and how – in the fifth year of his learning journey with Winvic – he’s looking more at managerial tasks and understands how to forward-plan programmes.
If you missed the first National Apprenticeship Week 2023 video blog with Mia or to hear more stories and insights from our apprentices – catch up here.
Head to our apprentice opportunities page to find out how to apply for a role at Winvic.
We hope you enjoy the rest of the videos being published during National Apprenticeship Week 2023.
