WINVIC’S reputation as a Considerate Constructor has been enhanced by glowing endorsements from organisations we have worked alongside at our Southgates site in Leicester . . . and most notably our involvement in a Royal occasion.
Following on from winning Silver at the Considerate Constructors Scheme National Site Awards in London recently, we have received praise from representatives of St Martins House, Leicester Cathedral and Leicestershire Police.
That recognition refers in particular to our assistance when Her Majesty The Queen attended the traditional Royal Maundy Thursday Service at Leicester Cathedral following a parade through the streets of the city centre at Easter.
“Winvic have worked closely with us in making sure building work took place without disruption or concern to its neighbours. When road closures needed to take place and utility works done, all were organised in a professional manner with great consideration to neighbours.”

In a message to our Southgates’ Project Manager Martin Overfield, St Martins House Director, Nick Quinn commented: “You and your team have been a pleasure to work with and I would recommend you without any hesitation to future clients.
“Opening up your new building to facilitate the welfare of 182 recipients and their carers for the Queen’s Maundy visit was both invaluable and a great gesture.”
He added: “On behalf of Leicester Cathedral and St Martins House, I just wanted to put into words our appreciation for your assistance.
“From the minute Winvic came to site, you and your team have worked closely with us in making sure building work took place without disruption or concern to its neighbours.
“When road closures needed to take place and utility works done, all were organised in a professional manner with great consideration to neighbours.”
Leicester Police’s Contingency Planning Officer, PC Tim Lowe said: “The Royal Maundy Thursday Event was a very large one for Leicestershire Police and all partner agencies. Your continued support helped us to deliver a safe and peaceful event.
“I am aware that some of the tasks we asked of you made your job a bit busier than it might have been, but throughout the planning and delivery of this event, your willingness to engage with us with good spirits helped our operation to run smoothly.”
Our work at Southgates was successfully completed in early May after a 75-week build programme to construct four blocks of student accommodation for 567 people located within close proximity of St Martins House and Leicester Cathedral in the city centre.
