Winvic has been announced as one of the companies shortlisted for the Building Awards’ Main Contractor of the Year (over £300 million). The winners across 21 categories will be announced on 5 November at The Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane, London.
The Building Awards are the industry’s longest-running award ceremony, that allows companies across all aspects of building to have their achievements held up as an example to the sector. Winvic’s entry highlighted projects, challenges and innovations – across a number of areas – over the last 12 months. Our response to current market conditions, the satisfaction levels of clients, staff and supply chain, and our approach to partnerships, training and R&D were also presented in the document. Plus, information about project and business sustainability, Winvic’s work in raising awareness of construction as a career and its approach to health, safety, and corporate social responsibility was detailed. New ways of thinking is always encouraged, not just legislative tick-boxes, and for example, reducing RIDDOR Average Frequency Rate of incidents at a time when 1 million more man hours were being used, is a remarkable feat.
Earlier this year, Winvic won the Safety & Health Excellence (SHE) award for the Best Health & Safety in Construction for SEGRO Logistics Park East Midlands Gateway (SLPEMG). We were also pleased to reach the finals of the CN Awards 2019 for Contractor of the Year and Health, Safety and Wellbeing Excellence Project for SEGRO Logistics Park East Midlands Gateway (SLPEMG) and the British Construction Industry Awards (BCIA) for Health, Safety and Wellbeing Initiative of the year for SEGRO Logistics Park East Midlands Gateway (SLPEMG). Compliance Manager, Jackie Hall, was also a finalist in the WICE Awards Best Woman in Health and Safety for 2019.
