Winvic Construction Ltd, has added to its growing list of accolades as a regional finalist in two categories at the National Apprenticeship and Skills Awards 2024. Winvic has been shortlisted for the T-Level Employer of the Year award, and T-Level student Viktoriia Grachova, has been nominated for T-Level Student of the Year. The winners will be announced at the East Midlands regional ceremony in Leicester on 9th October 2024, bringing together leading employers and students who have made a significant impact in their specialist fields.
The T-Level Employer of the Year award celebrates employers who showcase their commitment, contribution, and the success that T Levels have brought to their organisation. Winvic has demonstrated this through its dedication to nurturing young talent, developing their skills, and creating real-world learning opportunities within the construction sector.
Winvic is proud to celebrate the nomination of Viktoriia, who started her Winvic journey as a dedicated participant in the company’s Enrichment Programme in partnership with Walsall College. Viktoriia gained hands-on experience working on two key projects: the Civils and Infrastructure project, West Midlands Interchange, and the Multi-room project Crown Place in Birmingham. During her T-Level in Construction Design, Surveying, and Planning, Viktoriia completed a 315 hour work placement over the academic year, where she gained practical experience and invaluable insights into the construction industry, enhancing her knowledge and skills.
Winvic’s Enrichment Programme, delivered in partnership with Walsall College and Northampton College, offers students like Viktoriia the opportunity to learn from industry experts and gain practical experience on live projects. This initiative aligns with Winvic’s commitment to sustainability, innovation, and social value, which is embedded across the business. The programme ensures that future professionals are equipped with the knowledge and expertise needed to thrive in the ever-evolving construction landscape.
National T-Level Ambassador and Winvic’s Talent Development Manager, Kayleigh Merritt, said: “We are truly honoured to be nominated for the T-Level Employer of the Year award. This recognition reflects the dedication of our site teams whose mentoring and support for the students have been crucial to the success of our T-Level programme. By providing real-world insights and hands-on experience across a variety of roles during their placements, our teams ensure that students gain a comprehensive understanding of the industry, setting them up for future success in their careers.”
Viktoriia Grachova, Trainee Site Engineer at Winvic added: “I’m incredibly proud to be a regional finalist for the T-Level Student of the Year award, and I want to thank Winvic Construction and Walsall College for creating this amazing opportunity to get into the construction industry and for providing such strong mentorship throughout my journey. Their support has been key to my development, allowing me to take on more responsibilities and even lead with innovative technologies. While my T-Level in Construction: Design, Surveying, and Planning has provided me with a strong theoretical foundation, the hands-on experience at Winvic has truly accelerated my learning. My confidence and communication skills have grown each week, and I’m passionate about contributing to all aspects of construction while continuing to develop my skills and knowledge.”
