Winvic Construction Ltd has won two awards at the Love to Rent Awards 2024. These prestigious awards celebrate quality and excellence in the Build to Rent sector.
The 375-apartment Corkfield scheme in Edgbaston secured the title of Best Build to Rent Development Midlands, while The Bath House in Birmingham, featuring 406 Build-to-Rent (BTR) homes, received the award for Social Value Impact in BTR.
These two new awards follow Winvic and client Packaged Living securing the Best Build to Rent Development Award South for The Almere in Milton Keynes at last year’s awards.
WINNER: The Best Build to Rent Development Award Midlands – Corkfield, Edgbaston: completed for client PATRIZIA in September 2023. Designed by Arcadis (formerly CallisonRTKL), the project was supported by Warwickshire County Cricket Club (WCCC), Homes England and local stakeholder Calthorpe Estates.
Corkfield is a perfect example of the new class of BTR schemes; it meets the needs of numerous demographics while promoting community integration, culture, sport and wellbeing. Quality of space was integral to the development’s aims, including the meticulous design of ground floor amenity areas, creating community spaces that residents love to use as part of their home.
WINNER: The Social Value Impact in BTR Award – The Bath House, Birmingham: sections complete with handover in November 2024
The social value activity that Winvic delivered throughout the construction of The Bath House in Birmingham, comprising 406 quality Build-To-Rent homes, is an inspirational example of what can be achieved with a collaborative strategy.
Mark Jones, Winvic’s Managing Director for Multi-room commented: “We’re thrilled to be recognised once again by the Love to Rent Awards for our project delivery in the Build to Rent sector. These awards celebrate excellence and we’re honoured our partnerships with our clients and consultants to create exceptional spaces and communities for residents in Birmingham have been acknowledged. A huge thank you to our dedicated teams and supply chain partners, whose hard work and collaboration made these achievements possible.”
Richard Scutt, Director, Real Estate Development at PATRIZIA, added: “Winning this award is a testament to the dedication and vision behind the Corkfield development. Birmingham has a strong demand for high-quality Build-to-Rent accommodation, and this award underscores Corkfield’s role in providing essential new rental homes tailored to the local market. Our close collaboration with Winvic has been instrumental in achieving this success, and we are incredibly proud to see our shared commitment to quality and excellence celebrated with such a prestigious award. A huge congratulations to the entire team who brought this project to life, creating a vibrant community that residents are proud to call home.”
James Whidborne, Head of Residential Fund Management at Edmond De Rothchild, added: “Social Value is an integral part of our strategy to deliver high quality, affordable housing across the UK. To be able to deliver impact, even before the asset is operational, and during the construction phase, is a fantastic result.”
