WINVIC have been acclaimed for a commitment to improving the image of the construction industry by winning three prestigious awards.
Our Southgates, London Taxi Company and Prologis Park sites have all received glowing recognition from the Considerate Constructors Scheme National Site Awards following the latest ceremony which was staged at Plaisterers’ Hall in London.
As National Site Award winners, our multi-room student accommodation at Southgates in Leicester and the London Taxi Company headquarters, Coventry achieved Silver, while units DC1 and DC7 at Prologis Park in Ryton were given a Bronze.
“These awards are testament to the emphasis we have placed on being considerate to the community, general public and environment, as well as the development of welfare facilities so we provide the best working conditions for our staff.”
Ian Goodhead, Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Director
The awards honour adherence to the Scheme’s five-point Code of Considerate Practice which focuses on Care about Appearance, Respect the Community, Protect the Environment, Secure everyone’s Safety and Value their Workforce.
“The Considerate Constructors Scheme is all about developing a more professional image for the construction industry by commending best practice in these five areas,” said Ian Goodhead, our Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Director.
“These awards are testament to the emphasis we have placed on being considerate to the community, general public and environment, as well as the development of welfare facilities so we provide the best working conditions for our staff.
“That commitment to changing perception of the industry and demonstrating that we operate to the highest professional standards is underlined by the fact that we have a designated person, Jackie Hall, who is very much championing that cause.”
He added: “We are proud of this latest recognition because winning a National Site Award is an exceptional achievement by all concerned and it sets a benchmark as we aim to raise the bar even higher in terms of considerate construction.
“Through the company’s philosophy and methodology set out in The Winvic Way, we are committed to constantly improving our services and processes.”
The Considerate Constructors Scheme, which was set up in 1999, assesses over the lifecycle of a project the measures put in place to minimise the impact on the local community and environment, while at the same time providing good working conditions.
The annual awards recognise the sites which have made the greatest contribution towards improving the image of the construction industry.
Presentations were made to our Project Managers, Martin Overfield (Southgates), Nick Lakin (London Taxi Company) and Richard Reid (Prologis Park).
But these accolades are credit to the entire project teams in each instance for scoring consistently high marks throughout the CCS judging process.
