Contracted by Newlands Developments, Winvic delivered a major infrastructure project, involving intricate earthworks on a site near M1 Junction 36, Hoyland Common, Barnsley. The project involved moving around 800,000m3 of earth in an area that had been previously mined for both underground and opencast coal.

The site now accommodates 770,000 sq ft of distribution and storage space on a 132-acre plot of land known as Hoyland West which is divided into three plots:
Plot 1 – The main central area comprising 18.35 hectares with the construction of a 340,000 sq ft mega hub for Evri. The plot requires significant earthworks over multiple high walls to create a level site area and 144.5mOD elevation.
Plot 2 – The south-eastern 9.02 hectare part of the site to be prepared for future light speculative industrial units.
Plot 3 – Comprises of 5.09 hectares and similarly to Plot 2 is to be prepared to create a level, plateaued area to accommodate future light industrial units and will involve cut and fill elements.
