BLOG: Year In Industry Student James Feels Like He Belongs in the Winvic Team

It’s the second week of our Year In Industry students vlog takeover and today we’re here with James, who is a Commercial Team YII placement student working as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor. He’s studying for a Quantity Surveying at EMG Plot 5 and has been working at the 600,000 sq ft Plot 5 SEGRO Logistics Park East Midlands Gateway. He explains how Winvic were also awarded the fit-out contract for the industrial facility’s tenant Maersk so he also started to work on commercial aspects for that, as the vertical build was coming to completion. James speaks about Winvic’s values and what they and the Winvic experience means to him; he’s learned to value everybody’s opinions and focus on reaching the best possible outcome and by asking questions he can make sure he’s always learning and doing his job efficiently and correctly. “It’s a very inclusive team… I feel like I want to be here, I belong here.”
