Winvic celebrates double shortlist success at 2026 Inspiring Women in Construction and Engineering Awards

Posted on July 1, 2026 in Awards & Events

Winvic Construction Ltd has been shortlisted in two categories at the 2026 Inspiring Women in Construction and Engineering Awards (IWICE), with two of its Sustainability Managers recognised for their outstanding contributions to sustainable construction – reinforcing the company’s commitment to innovation, carbon reduction and future talent.

The recognition comes during a landmark year for Winvic as it celebrates its 25th anniversary and its role as a partner of the 2026 IWICE programme, reinforcing its commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) and developing future talent across the construction and engineering sectors.

Robbie Seal has been shortlisted in the Rising Star – Contribution to a project category for her outstanding contribution to a 761,316 sq. ft logistics development completed in April 2025. Robbie played a pivotal role in helping the project achieve Net Zero in construction in line with the UK Green Building Council Framework, alongside a BREEAM Outstanding certification and EPC A+ rating.

Through innovative approaches to carbon reduction, including an onsite concrete batching plant and the reuse of more than 7,700 tonnes of demolition material, the project surpassed the industry standard embodied carbon target of 300-400kgCO2e/m2 and achieved its ambitious goal of 249kgCO₂e/m².

Daisy’s shortlisting in the Rising Star – Technical Excellence category, recognises her exceptional technical expertise and influence in driving carbon reporting, verified to ISO14064-1, and reduction initiatives across Winvic and its group companies. Since joining the team in 2023, she has progressed rapidly through the business and has played a key role in spearheading a pivot from the embodied carbon reduction requirements outlined in Winvic’s Sustainable Procurement Framework, replacing with a bespoke, in-house calculation method. Through this method, she has assisted in decarbonising 35 projects, alongside expanding Winvic’s Scope 3 carbon reporting, and helping three Winvic Group companies achieve Carbon Neutral status.

As part of its programme partnership with IWICE, Winvic is hosting two panel discussions, playing an active role in driving industry-wide conversations around inclusion, workplace culture and talent development:

  • Learning and Development Workshop on 2nd July:Culture as Infrastructure: Building Workplaces Where Everyone Thrives’, exploring how organisations can create environments that support progression, retention and inclusion.
  • Conference on 16th September:Flexibility That Works: Rethinking How We Work’ panel, examining what effective, modern flexibility looks like within site-based construction roles. Additionally, Winvic will facilitate two ‘Change Maker Xchange’ conversations, asking ‘How to intentionally build the workplace culture future workers expect?’ And ‘What makes leadership development programmes truly effective, and should they be women-only or mixed to drive real progress?’

Winvic is also sponsoring the Excellence in Recruitment and Retention category, recognising organisations that are setting new standards in attracting, developing and retaining talent, with People and Resources Director, Rebecca Schwarz, on the judging panel.

Rebecca said: “We’re proud to partner with the Inspiring Women in Construction and Engineering programme, supporting conversations that aim to inspire workplaces where people can thrive and helping to attract and retain diverse talent, which is critical to the future success of our sector.

We are incredibly proud to see Robbie and Daisy recognised. Their achievements reflect both their exceptional individual expertise and dedication, and the positive impact they are having across our projects, the business and the wider industry.

“As we celebrate 25 years in business, this recognition perfectly reflects what we are striving to achieve at Winvic – creating an environment where talented people can shape the future of our industry.”

The winners of the 2026 IWICE Awards will be announced on 16th September at a ceremony in London.
