Demolition of existing building and construction of a new industrial storage and distribution unit

Winvic were appointed by London Metric Properties to design and construct a 134,000 sq ft industrial / storage and distribution unit with 6,500 sq ft integral office accommodation for end-user Michelin Tyres.

Winvic also carried out the prior demolition works to the existing Michelin Tyres factory. The 52 week programme for demolition and asbestos removal comprised:

  • 75,000 tonnes of materials recycled
  • 7,100 tonnes of metals removed from site and recycled
  • 795 tonnes of bonded and fibrous
  • All aggregate materials crushed and reused on site

The project also includes:

  • Vibro piling ground improvement to the footprint and foundations
  • 37 HGV tractor / trailer parking bays
  • 130 car parking spaces
  • 75,000 tonnes of materials recycled

  • 134,000 sq ft warehouse

  • 84 week programme
